We’re only two weeks into 2021 and have already witnessed troubling events enough to make the outcome of 2021 questionable. I would like to challenge you not to react or speak based on the things you see.
Hebrews 11:1 that “faith is the substance of things of hope for, the evidence of things not seen”. Things around you might not be pleasant. However, remember to speak what you want to see.
Three 3 things to keep in mind before you speak:
Firstly, your words are powerful: the bible actually says that “life and death is in the power of the tongue” – Proverbs 18:21.
Secondly, your words can change situations: I am reminded of the Shunammite woman in the Old Testament whose son had died. Interestingly, when her husband asked her if everything was ok, she responded by saying “all will be well”. This should be the disposition of every child of God.
Thirdly and most importantly, your words can rewrite the future: Let’s consider the Israelites who murmured and spoke negative words concerning the land God had promised and given them. The Bible explained that they considered themselves as grasshoppers. Unfortunately, God’s response to those individuals was that they would not make it to the promise land.
In conclusion, as we continue the year, please make it a habit to speak positive and pray what you want for this year into existence. What is something that you are trusting God for in 2021? Leave a comment below.
